Lotte Chemical Pakistan Limited (LCPL) is seeking an experienced Planning Officer to join the Projects team at its Port Qasim, Karachi manufacturing complex, on a one-year third-party contract. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, tracking procurement and resource plans, and driving progress, schedule and cost monitoring across ongoing capital projects — ensuring project management and site teams have accurate, timely visibility of project status and are alerted early to delays or risks. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Schedule & Planning Development • Develop detailed project schedules and timelines in MS Project for assigned capital/sustaining projects, in line with project scope and milestones. • Prepare resource requirement plans (manpower, equipment, materials) aligned with the project schedule. • Develop and maintain resource loading charts and level resources across concurrent project activities. • Support schedule crashing / fast-tracking analysis when acceleration is required to recover or protect milestones. Procurement (PR/PO) Tracking • Develop and maintain a Purchase Requisition (PR) / Purchase Order (PO) tracking list for project materials and services. • Track status of PRs and follow up on ordering of items to ensure procurement stays aligned with the project schedule. • Flag procurement items at risk of delaying downstream construction or commissioning activities. Progress, Schedule & Cost Monitoring • Monitor and control project progress using Excel and MS Project, tracking actual vs. planned progress. • Perform daily, weekly and monthly progress monitoring and update relevant trackers and dashboards accordingly. • Develop and maintain project S-curves reflecting planned vs. actual progress. • Monitor schedule performance (schedule variance) and cost performance (cost monitoring) against baseline/budget. • Prepare progress reports for project management, highlighting overall project health, key metrics and areas of concern. Interface Coordination & Reporting • Follow up with relevant engineering, procurement, construction and contractor interfaces to obtain progress updates. • Push out reporting requirements to stakeholders and follow up to ensure timely and accurate data collection. • Coordinate with project engineers and contractors to keep the project on track against schedule commitments. Delay Management & Recovery Planning • Proactively highlight schedule delays and slippages to project management as they emerge. • Assist in the development of catch-up / recovery plans to mitigate identified delays. • Support root-cause tracking of recurring delays and recommend planning improvements. Must have experience in project planning / scheduling, preferably within a petrochemical plant, fertilizer plant, refinery, or oil & gas facility. Contract Duration: 1-year contract, engaged through a third-party contracting/payroll arrangement. Software Proficiency: Well versed in MS Project; strong proficiency in MS Excel for tracking and reporting. Certification: MS Project certification preferred, though not mandatory.

Lotte Chemical Pakistan Limited (LCPL) is seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join the Projects team at its Port Qasim, Karachi manufacturing complex. The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of capital and sustaining projects, from basic and detail engineering through procurement, construction, installation, commissioning and project close-out. Ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality and engineering standards. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Engineering & Design Management • Coordinate and review basic design and detail (FEED/detailed) engineering packages prepared by consultants/EPC contractors for mechanical and static/rotating equipment scope. • Review and validate P&IDs, mechanical datasheets, layout drawings, and equipment specifications for technical accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards. • Interface with process, piping, instrumentation, civil and electrical disciplines to ensure integrated, constructible engineering deliverables. • Ensure engineering deliverables meet plant HSE, operability, maintainability and reliability requirements. Procurement Support • Develop technical specifications, material requisitions and bid evaluation criteria for mechanical equipment and bulk materials. • Support technical bid evaluation (TBE), vendor clarification, and vendor drawing/document review during procurement. • Coordinate expediting of critical equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, columns, compressors, steam turbines, cooling towers) to protect project schedule. Construction, Installation & Commissioning • Plan and monitor construction and installation activities, tracking progress against project schedule and highlighting deviations proactively. • Conduct site supervision and quality inspections during fabrication, erection and installation of mechanical equipment and piping systems. • Lead pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including punch-listing, mechanical completion, and handover to operations. • Ensure work is executed in compliance with process safety and HSE requirements, including permit-to-work and management-of-change processes. • Drive project close-out: as-built documentation, final account reconciliation, lessons-learned, and handover of project files/spares to operations and maintenance. Contracting & Contractor Management • Develop scope of work (SOW), technical specifications and complete contract/bid documents for engineering, procurement, construction and service contracts. • Lead or support contractor pre-qualification, tender floating, bid clarification, technical/commercial evaluation, and contractor selection. • Manage assigned contractors and workforce on site — monitoring performance, productivity, quality, HSE compliance and adherence to contractual obligations. • Review and certify contractor invoices, variation orders and claims in line with contract terms. • Coordinate project monitoring & control activities — schedule (progress S-curve), cost tracking, risk register, and progress reporting to project management. Technical / Equipment Knowledge: Candidate should have practical working knowledge of the design, installation, and/or maintenance considerations of the following static and rotating equipment: Static Equipment: Piping systems, pressure vessels, storage tanks, columns/towers, heat exchangers. Rotating Equipment: Pumps, compressors, steam turbines, and cooling towers. Familiarity with applicable international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, TEMA, ASTM) relevant to the above equipment is expected. Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred, though not mandatory. Preferred: Relevant experience in project engineering and/or project management within a petrochemical plant, fertilizer plant, refinery, or oil & gas facility.
